General description
- EBC X/XC Series - Full floating brake discs for the front wheel.
- These brake discs replace multiple LS (left) / RS (right) brake discs and can be installed on both sides.
- The steel used in the new EBC brake discs is a special blend of stainless steel with a higher friction effect than conventional heat-treated stainless steel brake discs. By improving the friction effect by 10%, the braking force is further increased.
- The weight of the new "X" and "XC" series has been further reduced by 5-10% thanks to a 6-rivet system with a lightweight inner ring, which is again an improvement over conventional brake discs.
- The new brake discs feature EBC's unique and patented SD system, whose square rivets placed in the recesses of the brake disc allow the outer and inner ring to expand unrestrictedly under the heat generated during braking without compromising the rivet connection
- This degradation occurs when the brake disc heats up from heavy braking and the outer ring comes into contact with the (usually round) rivets that separate the outer ring from the inner ring. The new EBC system prevents this problem, which is the cause of 100% of brake disc failures due to distortion and disc vibration.
- What is the SD system? It is a new square rivet system from EBC. This system completely prevents warping of the brake disc, increases its life and improves the consistency of the braking effect.
