I didn't expect it to be plastic, but in the final analysis it's not too bad. The mirror shakes a bit more than the aluminum mount, but it's rideable.

As far as the mirror mount I want to describe is concerned, I don't think it can last much longer because it is made of cast plastic, not too expensive, but if you pay a little more you get the original handle with a locate threaded hole of the same type as the current mount, and I don't think this product can withstand a vehicle crash.
