General description
- Replacement piston kit from YSS for original motocross suspensions.
- The kit includes: an aluminum piston with rings and washers.
- In the factory shock absorber, the pistons are made of metal alloys and the bodies are made of aluminum. During operation, when a large amount of heat is emitted due to the different thermal expansion values of these components working together, the damping system unseals.
- Aluminum expands more strongly than metal alloys. During intensive driving, this causes excessive tolerance deviation, the piston ring stops sealing, resulting in a noticeable deterioration of damping.
- YSS aluminum pistons have identical thermal properties which ultimately provides better damping. The included shims are used to adjust the proper valve damping. To achieve its full potential, the damping set should be tuned to the weight of the motorcycle user.
