Without having to look for a new head (sometimes unobtainable or at a horrendous price) even in the garage having a stand drill you can repair the damage and continue to enjoy your oldtimer.

I own a '69 WSK B1 and I bought silencing rubbers for it and can really recommend them. The rubber looks to be of good quality they fit well, the only thing that could be improved is to round one of the ends so that the rubber goes into the ribs without stopping on them. I recommend.

The thread should be all the way to the end , because it sticks out a lot beyond the outline of the head in the Dezamet engine and as in the Simson S51 engine. You have to grind a lot , but then the thread is too small to screw in. I do not recommend :/
