You need to file the middle groove, because it is too tight. You can hardly do it with a file, so the material is not the hardest. I will add that in my opinion there is no better replacement available so we are left with what is available.

The tappet fits, but it is terribly soft. The one I found in the engine had minimal signs of wear, and this one after several minutes already visible indentation from the ball on the pushrod.

I don't know about others, but in my case it didn't fit, and I had to sand the inner part of it (the finger on which this tappet overlaps in my case is factory).
